The Baltimore Orioles and the Boston Red Sox lock horns at Fenway Park wit first in the AL East at stake.
The Baltimore Orioles were red hot and sitting atop the American League East before losing three straight at Toronto. The Orioles snapped their three game slide and regained sole possession of the division with a 3-2 win at Fenway Park Tuesday night. O’s starter Chris Tillman gave up a run on a solo homer over seven frames while the offense rode a two run homer from Manny Machado in the first with Jonathan Schoop blasted a solo shot in the 7th. The Orioles are hoping Tyler Wilson can rebound from a few poor outings when he faces the Red Sox. Wilson has given up ten runs on 14 hits covering 9.3 innings of his last two starts.

The Boston Red Sox were slumping a few short weeks ago and are slowly trying to work themselves out of their funk. The Red Sox had won four of six but the offense failed them Tuesday and that cost them first place in the American League East. Boston starter David price allowed all three runs on five hits while striking out eleven through eight innings to get the loss. The Red Sox managed seven hits and three free passes with Jackie Bradley Jr. going deep while Hanley Ramirez singled in Mookie Betts. The Red Sox run Steven Wright to the hill to oppose the Orioles for the second time this year. Wright has logged back to back shutouts on ten hits and seven BB in 12.1 frames.
