The Baltimore Orioles hope to pick up a game on the visiting Toronto Blue Jays Saturday.
The Toronto Blue Jays are red hot and need to remain that way with several teams capable of capturing the AL East. The Blue Jays showed no signs of slowing with a 13-3 rout of the Orioles on the road Friday for their 8th win in eleven contests. Jays starter Aaron Sanchez gave up a run over seven frames to improve to 7-1 and the bats took care of the rest. Toronto racked up 13 hits and four BB with Justin Smoak and Josh Donaldson going deep and driving in five while Michael Saunders hit three homers and drove in eight. The Blue Jays send veteran RA Dickey to the hill in game two of their series at Baltimore. Dickey seems to have found a groove in his last three with a 2-1 record and 2.45 ERA.

The Baltimore Orioles are holding on to first in the American League East but have not been playing well. Nothing went right for the Orioles in the series opener and the team is looking at defeats in five of seven. O’s starter Mike Wright fell to 3-4 as he was charged with eight runs on six hits including three homers through 3.2 innings before Ubaldo Jimenez gave up five runs on six hits with two bombs in 2.1 frames. The Birds mustered eight hits and walked twice with Ryan Flaherty going solo while Manny Machodo and Mark Trumbo singled in runs. The Orioles have activated Yovani Gallardo from the disabled list for his first start since April. Gallardo has made just four starts with a 1-1 record with 1.67 WHIP and 7.00 ERA.
Toronto are 3-9 in their last 12 Saturday games and the under is 23-9-2 in their last 34 road games while the Blue Jays are 7-3 in their last 10 road games. The over is 8-2 in Baltimore’s last 10 Saturday games while the Orioles are 29-11 in their last 40 home games. I don’t know the condition of Gallardo so please check back…
