The Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlin conclude their series on Sunday afternoon.
The Colorado Rockies have been playing their best baseball the past few weeks and the question is can they continue the pace. The Rockies pitching failed them in a 9-6 defeat at Miami but the team has still won seven of eleven. Colorado starter Tyler Chatwood was charged wit three runs in 1.2 frames before Eddie Butler came on to give up six runs on nine hits in3.1 innings to fall to 2-4. The Rockies did their damage on eight hits and four walks with Nick Hundley smacking a bases load double to score three while Carlos Gonzalez knocked in a run and scored. The Rockies end the series on the mound with rookie Tyler Anderson who makes his second career start. Anderson received a ND in his debut with a 2-1 win versus San Diego where he gave up a run over 6.1 innings.

The Miami Marlins are trying to make the National League East a three team race but they need more consistency. The Marlins have been consistent the past week with Saturday’s victory being their 4th in five contests. Fish starter Wei-Yin Chen was pounded for all six runs on seven hits and a pair of bases on balls through 2.1 innings before five relievers held the Rockies scoreless. Miami amassed 17 hits and five walks with Justin Bour going deep, knocking in two and scoring twice while JT Realmuto homered and drove in three while Christian Yelich knocked in two. The Marlins hand the ball to Tom Koehler who faces the Rockies for the second time in 2016. Koehler has won consecutive outings with four runs allowed on ten hits in 12 frames.
Colorado are 20-8 in their last 28 Sunday games. The over is 9-4 in Miami’s last 13 Sunday games and is 6-2 in Koehler’s last 8 Sunday starts. Koehler has been throwing well and hopefully the Miami offense does damage against Anderson who is really the wild card…
