Chase Field and the Arizona Diamondbacks play host to the Philadelphia Phillies Monday.
The Philadelphia Phillies have struggled for nearly a month and that has them staring at 4th in the National League East. After an 8-7 loss at San Francisco the slumping Phillies have lost nine of eleven but certainly were a handful for the Giants this weekend. Phils starter Aaron Nola struggles continued with five runs scored on ten hits over 3.1 frames while all three relievers gave up a run. Philadelphia mustered 12 hits and walked twice with Odrubel Herrera going deep and scoring twice while Carlos Ruiz and Cody Asche knocked in two apiece with Asche scoring two times. The Phillies send Adam Morgan to the bump at Arizona to face the Diamondbacks for the second time in a week. Morgan struggled in a 6-5 loss at Minnesota last time out with five runs scoring on eleven hits over five innings.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have enjoyed a solid two weeks that has gotten them back to within striking distance of .500. The Diamondbacks probably gave one away three leads in a 9-7 defeat at Coors Field Sunday but they have still won seven of eleven. Zona starter Patrick Corbin gave up six runs on seven hits and five BB through 4.1 innings with Silvino Brache surrendering a walk off two run homer in the 9th to absorb the loss. The Snakes produced 15 hits and walked three times with Paul Goldschmidt driving in four while Jean Segura drove in a run and scored three times. Left hander Robbie Ray gets the ball against the Phillies for the second time this season. Ray comes off a 5-2 loss at Toronto with four runs allowed on four hits and two BB in 5.1 frames.
Philadelphia are 5-22 in their last 27 games on grass and are 6-24 in their last 30 Monday games while going 6-23 in their last 29 overall. The over is 9-2 in Arizona’s last 11 Monday games and the Diamondbacks are 7-2 in their last 9 overall while Arizona are 6-2 in their last 8 Monday games. I’m just going over with the way these teams swung the bats Sunday…
