The Arizona Diamondbacks look to continue their sudden resurgence as they take on the Philadelphia Phillies at Chase Field on Wednesday.
The Phillies were of the league’s biggest surprises in the early stages of the regular season and many thought they could shock the world and perhaps challenge for a playoff spot but they have since gone 7-24 in their last 31 contests and are quickly back to where many expected them to be before the season started. Philly doesn’t have the roster to be competitive in the NL East as the Nationals, Marlins, and Mets are all further along and will be involved in a three horse race for the NL East title. Philly will turn to Zach Eflin in this one who is 0-2 with a 6.28 ERA and he will match up against Archie Bradley who is 3-3 with a 4.50 ERA but is starting to find his groove and has shown signs of brilliance in his short career.

The D-Backs meanwhile are 6-4 in their last 10 contests and after a slow start they are trending upwards in the NL West race as they are seven games under .500 but aren’t too far off of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Arizona suffered a big blow before the season started when they lost AJ Pollock for the year but their pitching is starting to come around as Zack Greinke is finding his groove and as such the team is starting to play better and will be out for another big win here.
The Phillies are 4-11 in their last 15 road games, 6-22 in their last 28 games against a righty, and 1-8 in their last nine during game three of a series while the Diamondbacks are 8-17 in their last 25 home games, 6-1 in their last seven against the NL East, and 5-2 in their last seven against a righty. Arizona has more pop at the plate than the Phils and in the end I think Bradley will have enough run support to get the win in this one
