The Cleveland Indians hope to stay hot with a win at the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday.
The Cleveland Indians are the hottest team in the game as they try to open up a bigger lead in the American League Central. The Indians picked up a 5-3 win at Turner Field Tuesday and haven’t tasted defeat in weeks. Tribe starter Corey Kluber improved to 8-7 with two runs given up on three hits over eight frames. Cleveland logged eight hits and walked five times with Jose Ramirez driving in two while Carlos Santana drove in a run and scored. The Indians have scheduled Danny Salazar for Wednesday’s start at Atlanta. Salazar comes off of a 7-5 victory at Detroit where he gave up three runs on four hits and five BB over 5.2 innings.

The Atlanta Braves seemed to be finding the groove a week ago but have since slowed. The slowdown continued Tuesday as the bats and defense hurt the Braves which can’t happen against the Indians. Bravos starter Matt Wisler allowed two runs on six hits and struck out nine through six innings before Arodys Vizcaino gave up three runs but only one was earned. Atlanta was held to five hits and a free pass with Ender Inciarte knocking in two while Jace Peterson connected on his second homer. I see Casey Allen might get the start for Atlanta but check back.
Cleveland are 19-7 in their last 26 overall and are 19-7 in their last 26 games on grass while going 9-4 in their last 13 Wednesday games. The under is 8-2 in Atlanta’s last 10 on grass and is 8-2 in their last 10 overall while the Braves are 8-23 in their last 31 interleague games. The under is 8-1-1 in the last 10 meetings. No magic formula here as I’m taking the hot team…
