The Milwaukee Brewers look for a follow up victory after smashing the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night as they meet up at Miller Park again on Thursday.
The Dodgers look to shake off an ugly loss last night against an underwhelming Brewers side as they send Kenta Maeda to the bump on Thursday night as he will face off against Zach Davies who has been brilliant at home this season. Los Angeles has fallen by the way side in the NL West and have given the Giants some significant breathing room but they are still very much in the mix for a wild card spot and with half the season left to go they are still very much a dangerous team that could hit its stride at any moment. The Dodgers have been plagued by the ongoing saga of Yasiel Puig’s future and whether it will be in the City of Angels or elsewhere but other than that they seemingly have put aside any distractions and they will look for a big road win here against Milwaukee.

The Brewers meanwhile have had a disappointing season and things likely won’t get much better as they could very well unload some pieces as they are well back in the race in the NL Central and don’t have the legs to keep up. Milwaukee has been playing a bit better of late though and hammered the Dodgers last night which should give them a bit of confidence on Thursday as they have Zach Davies going who has been their best arm despite a 5-3 mark and a 4.10 ERA. Milwaukee does have some pop at the plate still but will be in tough here against Maeda who is 6-5 with a 2.91 ERA and is really coming into his own in his first MLB season.
The Dodgers are 7-3 in their last 10 games against a righty, 1-4 in their last five Thursday games, and 2-6 in their last eight road games against a righty while the Brewers are 4-1 in their last five Thursday games, 6-0 in Davies’ last six home starts and 5-2 in their last seven home games. Milwaukee has been better of late but they get outduelled here as Maeda has been great and continues his stretch here.
