The Washington Nationals look to keep the sticks hot after hanging 13 on the Reds yesterday as the teams meet up again in Washington on Friday.
The Cincinnati Reds look to get one back after getting waxed on the road at Nationals Park yesterday as they will look to get to Tanner Roark early and often who will get the ball for the Nats, as he will face off against Anthony DeSclafani who looks to remain unbeaten. The Reds have been a very big disappointment this season as they are 29-50 and well back of everybody in the National League Central and while they still have some pretty heavy bats that keeps them in games they haven’t been able to hang around enough to generate victories. The Reds will look to get DeSclafani another victory but he has his work cut out for them as the Nats have one of the best rosters in baseball and with Bryce Harper starting to heat up the rest of the majors have to take notice as this team could finally realize their potential and be a threat come playoff time.

The Nationals are 47-32 this season and got a big win at home yesterday against these Reds and they will turn to Tanner Roark who is 7-5 with an impressive 2.96 ERA and a great roster batting for him. Washington is a perfect 4-0 in their last four home games and look like a team ready to take charge in the National League and thanks to the New York Mets’ struggles of late they are in the driver’s seat right now in the NL East and barring a collapse they should be able to qualify for the playoffs as division champions.
The Reds are 30-64 in their last 94 games, 12-30 in their last 42 Friday games, and 1-5 in DeSclafani’s last six road starts while the Nationals are 4-0 in their last four overall, 5-0 in their last five Friday starts from Roark and 4-0 in Roark’s last four starts following a quality start in his last appearance. The Reds have lucked out with DeSclafani so far but he runs into a tough test here as the Nats should cruise.
