The Line: Cleveland Indians / Detroit Tigers --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Cleveland Indians look to get back on track after getting smashed by the Blue Jays yesterday as they return home to face off against the Detroit Tigers.
The Tigers head into Monday’s game against the Indians coming off a win on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays and they will look to keep the sticks hot against Danny Salazar who has been one of the best pitchers in the league this season. Detroit has a very well balanced lineup and a pretty good rotation but they are in a battle in the AL Central with the Indians, Royals, and White Sox and will need to keep pace heading into the all-star break and beyond. Detorit will turn to youngster Daniel Norris in this one as the lefty will go up against Salazar who has 10 wins to his record so far this season and is one part of a very lethal three headed monster that is the Cleveland rotation.

The Indians went on an impressive 14-game winning streak that propelled them into the AL Central division lead and while they outlasted the Blue Jays in the first two games of their series over the weekend it came crashing down on Saturday and Sunday. Cleveland was trounced by a 17-1 final yesterday at Rogers Centre as Corey Kluber took to the loss but they will have a chance to start a new winning streak back home against the Tigers in a series that could be pivotal in terms of playoff positioning and division bragging rights. Salazar could end up getting bumped in the rotation here as it remains TBD but he is the scheduled starter and if he goes it should give the Indians the edge on the mound against Norris.
The Tigers are 6-0 in their last six overall, 7-1 in Norris last eight starts, and 4-0 in his last four starts against the AL Central while the 5-0 in their last five series openers, 5-0 in their last five home games against a team with a winning record, and 42-20 in their last 62 home games. Detroit is playing well right now but the Indians have been just a shade better and will look to rebound after an ugly game yesterday.
