The Atlanta Braves visit Great American Ball Park to take the field with the Cincinnati Reds.
The rebuilding Atlanta Braves have been all over the map with their hitting and pitching but generally don’t score much. Nothing went well for the Braves Monday in an 8-2 defeat at Great American Ball Park. Bravos starter Matt Wisler fell to 4-9 with six runs scoring (five earned) on eight hits including three homers over five frames. Atlanta logged nine hits and a pair of bases on balls with Adonis Garcia going 3-4 with a homer and two runs. The Braves send Tyrell Jenkins to the hill for his second career start on Tuesday. Jenkins has made five relief appearances as well and overall has gone 0-1 with a 1.64 WHIP and 4.50 ERA.

The Cincinnati Reds appear to be in no hurry to make any trades as they shift towards their young players continues. The Reds have now won three of four and are hoping their little run turns in to something bigger. Cinci starter Brandon Finnegan improved to 5-7 with both runs plated on seven hits over five frames with three relievers keeping Atlanta off the scoreboard. Cincinnati pounded out 12 hits and walked three times with Zach Cozart, Joey Votto and Eugenio Suarez going deep and combining for six RBI’s. Left hander Cody Reed draws Tuesday’s start against visiting Atlanta. Reed comes off of a 7-3 loss at Miami with four runs allowed (three earned) on seven hits over 4.2 frames.
The under is 11-3 in Atlanta’s last 14 road games and the Braves are 14-38 in their last 52 Tuesday games while going 24-55 in their last 79 road games. The over is 5-1-2 in Cincinnati’s last 8 Tuesday games and the Reds are 3-8 in their last 11 home games while going 35-72 in their last 107 overall. I’d look elsewhere to be honest…
