The Milwaukee Brewers collide with the rival Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park in Wednesday action.
The Milwaukee Brewers goal of reaching .500 has been slowly slipping away with neither the arms or bats producing consistently. The Brewers took a tough 3-2 defeat at PNC Park after tying the game 2-2 in the 9th only to see the Pirates win it in the bottom of the inning. Brew Crew starter Junior Guerra allowed two runs over six frames with Tyler Thornberg giving up the winner in the bottom of the 9th. Milwaukee totaled seven hits with Hernan Perez going 2-4 with both RBI’s. Chase Anderson hopes to right the ship when he opposes the Pirates on Wednesday. Anderson has gone four straight starts without reaching five innings with 15 walks and four homers served up.

The Pittsburgh Pirates know that the National League Central is getting out of reach so they have to be looking at the Wild Card. The Pirates nearly gave one away Tuesday to visiting Milwaukee but at the end of the day they have won crucial back to back contests. Buccos starter James Tallion gave up a run through six innings before Mark Melacon blew the save in the 9th and ironically won it when Pitt scored in the bottom of the 9th.Pittsburgh logged five hits and walked four times with David Freese and Francisco Cervelli recording RBI’s. The Pirates are slated to start Jeff Locke against the visiting Brewers for the second time in 2016. Locke did not get a decision in a 7-5 win at St. Louis with all five runs scoring on eight hits in four frames.
The under is 7-2 in Milwaukee’s last 9 Wednesday games and the Brewers are 5-14 in their last 19 road games while the under is 8-3-1 in their last 12 road games. The over is 25-9 in Pittsburgh’s last 34 home games and is 18-7-1 in their last 26 Wednesday games while the Pirates are 10-4 in their last 14 overall. I’m not really a fan of the pitching but I’ll back the team that really needs to win…
