The surging Miami Marlins have been playing their best baseball of the season and need to stay hot to remain in playoff contention. The Marlins had won eight often before their bats and bullpen cost the team a chance of making up ground in the East standings. Fish starter Adam Conley gave up two runs through six inningsBefore the pen gave up three runs. The Marlins did their damage on seven hits and three base on balls with Christian Yelich going deep and driving in two while scoring twice. Miami turns to ace Jose Fernandez for Saturday’ tilt with the rival NY Mets who he opposes for the third time in 2016. Fernandez has been strong this year with an 11-4 record with a 2.53 ERA.
The under is 16-5 in the Mets last 21 road games and is 21-7-1 in their last 29 overall while going 21-7-1 in their last 29 on grass. Miami are 8-2 in their last 10 overall and are 8-2 in their last 10 games on grass while going 29-3 in Fernandez’s last 32 home starts. Right or wrong I’ll take Fernandez at home…
