The Colorado Rockies resume  their series at Citi Field against the New York Mets.

The surging Colorado Rockies are inching closer to .500 and quite possibly the postseason. Rockies stayed hot with a 6-1 win at- Citi Field with quality efforts on the mound and at the plate for their 8th win in nine contests. Colorado starter Tyler Chatwood improved to 10-6 with a lone run scoring on three hits and four BB over seven frames and the bats didn’t waste the effort with a 13 hit, two walk attack that saw Mark Reynolds homer while Carlos Gonzalez went deep and drove in four. The Rockies send veteran Jorge De La Rosa to the hill to oppose the Mets for the first time in 2016. De La Rosa did not get a decision in a 3-2 loss at Baltimore with two runs allowed (one earned) over 6.1 innings.

New York Mets vs. Colorado Rockies - 7/30/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The New York Mets have been in a slow decline which has knocked them back to third in the National League East race. The Mets have now lost three in a row following Friday night’s defeat to visiting Colorado. NYM starter Steven Matz fell to 8-7 with two runs scoring on ten hits through six innings before Antonio Bastardo gave up three runs in the 9th. New York was held to six hits with James Loney accounting for the lone run with his 21st homer. The ageless wonder Bartolo Colon toes the rubber against visiting Colorado on Saturday. Colon comes off of a 3-1 win versus the Cardinals with a run plated in seven frames.

Colorado are 7-1 in their last 8 overall and are 7-1 in their last 8 games on grass while the under is 19-7 in their last 26 road games. T{he under is 18-6-2 in the Mets last 26 overall and  is 18-6-2 in their last 26 on grass while the Mets  are 8-2 in Colon’s last 10 starts. The Rockies are 17-40 in the last 57 meetings in New York. The problem for me is Colon is going on short rest and that scares me away…
