The Line: Atlanta Braves / Philadelphia Phillies --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Philadelphia Phillies look to continue their strong play as they face off against the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field on Sunday.
The Phillies netted a big 9-5 win on the road against the lowly Atlanta Braves on Saturday and they will look for an encore on Sunday as they send Jerad Eickhoff to the mound who has had a pretty decent season despite not registering many wins. The Phillies haven’t had a ton of success recently despite starting the year very strong and while they will likely miss out on the playoffs this year they do have something to look forward to as they have some good pieces in place and could get a few more if they can sell off some assets over the weekend. The Phils will look to Eickhoff here who is 6-12 with a 3.83 ERA as he will face off against Joel De La Cruz.

The Braves meanwhile continued their miserable season with a four run loss last night and despite having Julio Teheran on the bump they got shelled by the Phils who earned the win for Jeremy Hellickson. Atlanta did make a splash though yesterday as they acquired Matt Kemp from the San Diego Padres and while the move may not impact the team this season as they are so far removed from the playoff picture it is a nice piece to have moving forward as they look to continue their rebuild.
The Phils are 7-19 in their last 26 games following a win, 4-10 in Eickhoff’s last 14 road starts, and 7-15 in their last 22 during game four of a series while the Braves are 3-7 in their last 10 overall, 18-40 in their last 58 against a team with a losing record, and 15-38 in their last 53 home games. Philly is the better team here and have the pitching edge so there isn’t anywhere to go here as Philly gets another win.
