The Milwaukee Brewers head to the west coast to face the San Diego Padres on Monday.
The Milwaukee Brewers are playing as well as they have all season although I don’t see them staying hot and reaching .500. The Brewers continued to win with a 4-2 victory versus visiting Pittsburgh Sunday for their 6th win in seven contests. Brew Crew starter Matt Garza gave up both runs over five frames with four relievers putting up zeros. Milwaukee managed eight hits and five walks with Chris Carter and Keon Broxton going deep with Hernan Perez scoring twice. Jimmy Nelson will be the game one starter at San Diego on Monday night. Nelson was hit hard in an 8-1 loss to visiting Arizona last time out with eight runs plated on nine hits over 4.2 innings.

The San Diego Padres have made a few trades and are giving some other players a look going forward. The Padres will be looking to shake off Sunday’s 3-2 loss to visiting Cincinnati where the bats never got going. SD starter Paul Clemens gave up two runs through 4.1 innings with Buddy Baumann allowing the eventual game winner. San Diego mustered five hits and four walks with Wil Myers recording an RBI and scoring while Travis Jankowski scored. Jarred Cosart makes his 5th start of the season when the Brewers visit on Monday. Cosart did not receive a decision last time out in a 4-0 loss to Philadelphia with five scoreless frames.
Milwaukee are 4-11 in their last 15 Monday games and are 6-16 in their last 22 road games while the under is 10-4-1 in their last 15 road games. The Brewers are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. This is a toss up really so perhaps the hotter squad…
