The Baltimore Orioles look to extend their lead in the East with a win at the Chicago White Sox.
The Baltimore Orioles are still leading the American League East but their grip is far from secure. The Orioles remained in first in the East with a 7-5 victory at Chicago Friday night. O’s starter Yovani Callardo gave up a pair of runs over six frames before Darren O’Day allowed three runs in the 8th to put the game in doubt. The Birds amassed 16 hits with Pedro Alvarez smacking two solo homers while Manny Machado went 3-5 with two RBI’s and a run. The Orioles turn to ace Chris Tillman for Saturday’s start at the White Sox. Tillman is having a big year with a 14-3 record in 23 starts with a 1.22 WHIP and 3.46 ERA over 138 innings.

The Chicago White Sox have slowly faded and are looking to finish 2016 strong and carry some momentum in to next season. The White Sox have been struggling and that trend continued Friday with a late rally falling short. CWS starter Miguel Gonzalez was charged with four runs (three earned) on ten hits through six innings before Tommy Kahnle allowed three runs in the 8th. Chicago totaled ten hits and walked four times with Jose Abreu going solo and scoring twice while Avisail Garcia doubled in two and scored. Left hander Carlos Rodon is scheduled to face the visiting Orioles for the second time this year. Rodon comes off a 6-4 loss at Minnesota with five runs given up on eight hits in 6.1 frames.
The under is 9-2 in Baltimore’s last 11 road games and is 17-4 in their last 21 on grass while going 21-5 in their last 26 overall. The White Sox are 2-6 in their last 8 overall and are 2-6 in their last 8 games on grass while going 3-10 in Rodon’s last 13 starts. Tillman has to come up big again or the O’s are in trouble…
