The Miami Marlins and Colorado Rockies meet up in Denver on Saturday as both teams look to stay active in the wild card hunt in the National League.
The Marlins look to continue their recent success against teams with a losing record as they face off against the Rockies at Coors Field a night after getting a big 5-3 win and they will send Andrew Cashner to the mound who will look to make some waves with his new team. The Marlins have been in the mix in the NL East for most of the season and while it looks likely that they won’t take the division crown away from the Washington Nationals they are certainly a contender to take down a wild card spot and a series win against the surging Rockies would go a long way in doing so.

The Rockies had been one of the hottest teams in baseball and even after their loss last night they are still 7-3 in their last 10 games and have gone form an after thought to a serious threat to making the playoffs. The Rockies are a very dangerous team when they get a solid start from their pitching as they have a lethal offense that can keep them in ball games and of late everything has gone according to plan and they have really played their way back into the discussion as a potential playoff contender.
The Fish are 2-9 in their last 11 road games against a team with a winning home record, 4-1 int heir last five against the NL West, and 9-2 in their last 11 against a team with a losing record while the Rockies are 4-0 in their last four Saturday games, 8-2 in their last 10 following a loss, and 11-4 in their last 15 overall. The Rockies were cooled off last night and I think it continues here as Cashner is the better of the two pitchers and Miami capitalizes.
