Over at Fenway Park on Tuesday, the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will be renewing their historic MLB rivalry.
The Yankees are coming off a three-game set against the Indians. New York won games one and three, but lost on Saturday 5-2.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox played against the Dodgers in L.A. over the weekend. Boston won the first game 9-0 but dropped the last two by a combined 11-5.
Taking the hill for the Yankees on Tuesday will be Luis Severino. In his 10 games (seven starts) and 1-6 record this year, Severino has a pretty bloated 6.02 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP in 43.1 innings. Severino did get a win in 4.1 innings against the Mets his last time out, though, logging just one hit and one unearned run.
New York jettisoned many of their players in trades before the deadline, but still has a few knockers in the bunch. Carlos Beltran has hit 109 times with 50 runs, 22 homers and 64 RBI. Didi Gregorius has hit 108 times with 46 runs, 13 homers and 49 RBI. Starlin Castro has put up 106 hits with 43 runs, 12 homers and 46 RBI.
The Red Sox will be bringing out RHP Rick Porcello for the start on Tuesday. In his 22 starts and 14-3 record this year, Porcello owns a 3.46 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP in 143 innings. Porcello took a loss in eight innings against Seattle his last time out, with four hits and three runs allowed.
Boston has some interesting hitters on their roster as well. Mookie Betts has hit 146 times with 86 runs, 23 homers and 74 RBI. Xander Bogaerts has 144 hits with 80 runs and 68 RBI. Dustin Pedroia sits on 127 hits with 71 runs, 12 homers and 46 RBI so far.
The Yankees are 5-1 in their last six game ones of a series, and 1-5 in their last six road games. New York is also 0-4 in Severino’s last four road starts and 0-5 in Severino’s last five starts in game one of a series.
As for the Red Sox, they’re 4-0 in their last four games following an off day, and 5-1 in their last six against the American League East. Boston is also 8-2 in their last 10 during game one of a series, and 2-5 in their last seven Tuesday games.
I don’t think the Red Sox will have a whole lot of trouble against Severino here, so I’ll take Boston for the victory at home.
