The Chicago White Sox haven’t been able to string wins together yet they are in a virtual tie with Kansas City for third in the American League Central despite losing seven of ten. The White Sox come off a 10-2 defeat to visiting Baltimore Sunday where nothing went as planned. CWS starter James Shields was hammered for eight runs on six hits including four homers in 1.1 frames to fall to 3-7. The Chicago bats were limited to four hits with Jose Abreu going solo while Todd Frazier drove in Adam Eaton. Left hander Chris Sale toes the rubber at Kansas City for the third time on the year. The Kansas City Royals are just trying to finish the season with a winning record as injuries have hurt them this year. The Royals have won back to back games after knocking off visiting Toronto 7-1 on Sunday. KC starter Yordano Ventura upped his record to 7-9 with a run scoring on five hits and four BB through 6.2 innings. Kansas City pounded out eleven hits and walked twice with Alcides Escobar going deep and scoring twice while Kendrys Morales connected on a grand slam. Veteran Edinson Volquez is slated to be on the hill to oppose the rival White Sox on Tuesday. Volquez has struggled over his last three with an 0-2 record with a 2.06 WHIP and 6.88 ERA.
The over is 6-2 in the White Sox last 8 overall and the over is 6-2 in their last 8 on grass while Chicago are 3-8 in their last 11 overall. Kansas City are 2-9 in their last 11 games following a win and the over is 12-3 in their last 15 Tuesday games and the Royals are 3-9 in their last 12 games on grass. The under is 12-5 in Sale’s last 17 starts versus Kansas City and Chicago are 16-35 in the last 51 meetings. No clue here as neither can be counted on…
