The New York Yankees will look to finish above .500 for the year and that means will have been at their best in the role of spoiler. The Yankees looked good early with a 2-0 lead but things went south in a 5-3 defeat at Boston. Yanks starter Luis Severino was charged with all five runs on seven hits over 4.1 frames to get the loss. The NYY logged seven hits and five walks with Jacoby Elsbury, Brian McCann and Chase Headley driving in runs. Nathan Eovaldi toes the rubber against the Red Sox for the third time this season. Eovaldi comes off a 4-1 loss to the Mets where he was charged with all four runs on six hits including two homers over seven innings.

Pomeranz did not receive a decision in a 3-2 win at Seattle with two runs allowed on four hits and six BB in six frames.
