The San Francisco Giants look to leave South Florida with a win against the Miami Marlins.
The San Francisco Giants haven’ been at the top of their game for quite awhile but they have managed to hold the lead in the NL West so far. The Giant never got their hitting going and the pitching was left on their lonesome. SF starter Matt Moore was at his best with both runs plated on three hits and five BB over six frames to lose his first with San Francisco. The Giants were held to three hits and four free passes with Angel Pagan smacking a pair of doubles. Jeff Samardzija toes the rubber against he Marlins for the second time this season. Samardzija has been struggling lately with an 0-3 mark in his last three with a 6.75 ERA.

The Miami Marlins need to win more consistently or their postseason hopes will be gone. The Marlins took a step in the right direction with a much needed win on Tuesday night. Fish starter Tom Koehler was dominant with two hits and a trio of bases on balls through seven scoreless innings. Miami posted four hits and six walks with Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna driving in runs. David Phelps is scheduled to make his second start of the year on Wednesday. Phelps has 50 appearances in relief and overall he has gone 5-5 with a 1.14 WHIP and 2.45 ERA.
San Francisco are 4-11 in their last 15 road games and are 7-15 in their last 22 overall while going 7-15 in their last 22 games on grass. The under is 11-5 in Miami’s last 16 Wednesday games and the Marlins are 2-6 in Phelps' last 8 starts while the Marlins are 2-6 in Phelps' last 8 starts on grass. The over is 12-2 in the last 14 meetings in Miami and is 21-8 in the last 29 meetings. I really don’t know how far Phelps will go which is a concern here…
