Headed our way in MLB action on Saturday from historic Fenway Park, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Boston Red Sox will be clashing once again.
This will be game two of the set. On Friday, the Red Sox scored eight times in the first two frames to cruise to a 9-4 win.

Pitching for the Diamondbacks on Saturday will be RHP Archie Bradley. In Bradley’s 16 games and 4-7 record, he’s posted a 4.80 ERA with a 1.51 WHIP in 90 innings. Bradley took a no-decision his last time out on 4.2 innings with three earned on three hits against the Brewers.
The Arizona hitters definitely feature some gems on the roster. Jean Segura has posted 142 hits with 70 runs and 44 RBI. Paul Goldschmidt is sitting on 124 hits with 68 runs, 18 homers and 74 RBI. As for Jake Lamb, he’s got 103 hits, 58 runs, 24 homers and 72 RBI so far.
Over on the Red Sox’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Clay Buchholz take the mound on Saturday. Across his 26 games and 13 starts with a 4-9 record, Buchholz has posted a 5.64 ERA with a 1.41 WHIP in 91 innings. Buchholz is coming out of the bullpen after a demotion, and hasn’t allowed an earned run since July 26.
The Boston hitters are pretty stout as well. Mookie Betts has logged 149 hits with 87 runs, 23 homers and 75 RBI. Xander Bogaerts has put up 147 hits with 82 runs and 69 RBI. Dustin Pedroia sits on 133 hits with 74 runs and 50 RBI of his own.
The Diamondbacks are 2-5 in their last seven game twos of a series, and 1-4 in Bradley’s last five games against a team with a winning record. Arizona is also 3-11 in their last 14 road games against a right-handed starter, and 4-2 in their last six road games.
As for the Red Sox, they’re 2-5 in their last seven Saturday games, and 1-5 in their last six game twos of a series. Boston is also 0-5 in Buchholz’s last five starts, and 1-5 in Buchholz’s last six starts during game two of a series.
It will be interesting to see what Buchholz does in his first start since the bullpen demotion, so he’s motivated. I’ll take the Red Sox here.
