The Line: Los Angeles Angels +125 / Seattle Mariners -135 --- Over/Under: 8 See the Latest Odds
The red hot Seattle Mariners look to continue their push towards the AL West lead as they face off against their division rivals in Los Angeles on Monday.
The Mariners have gone 8-2 in their last 10 games and look to close the gap on the AL West leading Texas Rangers with another victory on Monday as they send King Felix to the mound who will battle with Ricky Nolasco. Seattle has also closed the gap in the wild card hunt as they are just two games back of the second and final spot in the American League postseason landscape and if they can keep the bats hot and let the front end of their rotation continue to impress they could be a tough team to take down to finish the season as they look to live up to the preseason expectations laid out for them. Hernandez will look to improve to 7-4 on the year and lower his ERA down from 3.39 while Nolasco is 4-9 this season between Minnesota and LA and will need to be better than his 5.14 ERA if he is going to stay competitive against Seattle here.

The Angels have had a very tough season and head into Monday night’s game well back of competition in the American League West and as such they find themselves as +125 underdogs here against their division foes. Los Angeles is expected to get CJ Cron back this week who could help them at the dish but overall they remain a pretty underwhelming team and will have difficulty finding wins the rest of the way, especially against teams that need to generate momentum in order to make a playoff push which is what we see here from Seattle.
The M’s are 19-7 in their last 26 games against a righty, 7-1 in their last eight overall, but 9-21 in their last 30 road games. The Angels meanwhile have last nine games in a row, but are 10-3 in their last 13 home games and 7-2 in their last nine home games following a loss. Seattle needs the win here and get their ace going so they should be in the clear to get it done against the Halos.
