The Line: Los Angeles Angels +110 / Seattle Mariners -120 --- Over/Under: 8 See the Latest Odds
The Seattle Mariners look to continue their push towards the postseason as they take on their division rivals in the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night.
The Mariners and Angels are headed in complete opposite directions heading into Thursday night’s game as th visitors are 8-2 in their last 10 games and are making significant strides in the race for an American League playoff spot while the Halos are 1-9 in their last 10 and have looked horrible all season long. Seattle was expected to be in the mix in the AL West this season but were slotted in behind the Astros and Rangers but they are still very much in contention for the division as well as a wild card spot and would be a nice treat to see them get back into October baseball. Seattle will send Hisashi Iwakuma to the hill as he will face off against Matt Shoemaker in a matchup that once again favours the M’s.

The Angels meanwhile head into tonight’s game in a full on tailspin and occupy the basement of the AL West division and will need a full overhaul in the offseason if they’re going to play their way back into relevance in the standings. LA does have some nice pieces in place led by Mike Trout and have some options in the form of CJ Cron and Kole Calhoun but they haven’t been able to string everything together at the same time and with a subpar rotation in place as well the Angels are in trouble and might be for a few more seasons.
The Mariners are 9-2 in their last 11 overall, 13-3 in Iwakuma’s last 16 starts, and 4-1 in his last five starts against the AL West while the Angels are 1-11 in their last 12 overall, 1-4 in Shoemaker’s last five starts, but 11-4 in their last 15 home games. This is a great value for the visitors at -120 and with Iwakuma going they get it done without much trouble.
