Headed our way Saturday from Oriole Park, the MLB is bringing us another installment of the Houston Astros and Baltimore Orioles series.
This will be game three of the set. On Thursday, the Orioles took a 13-5 win. On Friday, Houston evened it up with a 15-8 result.

Taking the mound for the Astros on Saturday will be RHP Mike Fiers. In his 23 games (22 starts) and 8-6 record this year, Fiers owns a 4.66 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP in 125.2 innings. Fires took a loss his last time up in Toronto, going 4.2 innings with seven hits and five earned.
The Astros have quite a few young offensive stars. Jose Altuve is having a crazy season on 175 hits with 20 homers, 80 RBI and 88 runs. George Springer has hit 24 homers with 70 RBI, 89 runs and 127 hits. Carlos Correa sits on 122 hits with 59 runs, 18 homers and 83 RBI.
On the Orioles’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Chris Tillman in the starting role Saturday. In his 25 starts and 15-4 record, Tillman owns a 3.46 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP in 151 innings overall. Tillman won his last start in Oakland, going seven innings with five hits and two earned.
Baltimore doesn’t slouch at the plate, either. Manny Machado has hit 143 times with 84 runs, 29 homers and 74 RBI. Adam Jones holds 129 hits with 72 runs, 24 homers and 72 RBI. Jonathan Schoop has hit 130 times with 64 runs, 18 homers and 63 RBI.
The Astros are 1-4 in their last five game threes of a series, and 1-6 in their last seven Saturday games. Houston is also 6-1 in Fiers’ last seven starts in game three of a series, and 3-8 in Fiers’ last 11 road starts.
As for the Orioles, they’re 45-20 in their last 65 home games, and 6-14 in their last 21 against the American League West. Baltimore is also 43-19 in Tillman’s last 62 home starts, and 47-23 in Tillman’s last 70 starts overall.
With Tillman on the mound here, I’ve got to go with Baltimore. Give me the Orioles.
