The Chicago White Sox and Oakland Athletics finish off their series at U.S. Cellular in Sunday action.
The Oakland Athletics are slipping away as the season goes on and need a good old fashion hot streak to turn things around. Things didn’t turn around for the Athletics Saturday in a 6-2 defeat at the White Sox. A’S starter Ross Detwiler was charged with all six runs on ten hits over four frames to get the loss. Oakland mustered six hits and three walks with Danny Valencia going solo while Brett Eibner drove in Ryon Healy. Oakland is slated to send Jesse Hahn to the hill to face the White Sox for the first time since 2015. Hahn did not get a decision in an 8-6 win at the Angels with five runs given up on seven hits over four innings.

The Chicago White Sox are well within grasp of reaching .500 but they seem to be getting further away. The struggling White Sox had dropped four of five before both the arms and bats came together for a big win. CWS ace Chris Sale set things straight with three hits and a trio of BB allowed through eight innings to pick up the victory. Chicago produced ten hits with Jose Abreu going deep and scoring twice while Melky Cabrera drove in two and scored. Left hander Jose Quintana get the start in the final game of the series versus the Athletics. Quintana comes off a 3-1 loss to Cleveland with a pair of runs plated in six innings.
Oakland are 2-8 in their last 10 road games and are 6-18 in their last 24 Sunday games. The under is 20-6-1 in Quintana’s last 27 on grass and t/he under is 33-16-2 in Quintana’s last 51 home starts. The Athletics are 4-10 in the last 14 meetings. Quintana is a bit under rated in my view but he does need support…
