Finishing out their MLB series on Sunday, the New York Mets will meet the San Francisco Giants once again at AT&T Park.

This will be game four of the set. The Giants took games one and two by a combined 10 runs, and on Saturday, the Mets got a little revenge with a 9-5 victory.

San Francisco Giants vs. New York Mets - 8/21/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

Taking the mound for the Mets on Sunday will be right-hander Noah Syndergaard. In his 24 games (23 starts) and 10-7 record this year, Syndergaard holds a 2.76 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP in 140 innings. Syndergaard took a win with his last outing in Arizona, going 5.2 innings with seven hits and two earned.

It’s pretty easy to find the stars on the Mets’ order. Neil Walker has hit 113 times with 54 runs, 22 homers and 54 RBI. Yoenis Cespedes has 100 hits with 51 runs, 24 homers and 62 RBI. Asdrubal Cabrera has hit 98 times with 42 runs and 34 RBI.

Over on the Giants’ side, we’ll be seeing right-hander Jeff Samardzija. Over his 24 starts and 10-8 record this year, Samardzija has put up a 4.24 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP in 152.2 innings. Samardzija grabbed a no-decision in his last time out, going six innings with three earned on six hits.

We’ve got some key hitters on the Giants’ side as well. Denard Span leads the way on 124 hits with 53 runs and 42 RBI. Brandon Belt has hit 118 times with 59 runs and 61 RBI. Brandon Crawford holds 118 hits with 52 runs and 74 RBI.

The Mets are 5-0 in their last five Sunday games, and 7-1 in Syndergaard’s last eight Sunday starts. New York is also 10-4 in Syndergaard’s last 14 road starts, and 5-2 in Syndergaard’s last seven road starts versus a team with a winning record.

As for the Giants, they’re 5-0 in their last five game fours of a series, and 1-4 in their last five Sunday games. San Francisco is also 1-5 in Samardzija’s last six starts, and 1-5 in Samardzija’s last six starts on grass.

In the pitching matchup, I’m going to stick with the trends here and choose Syndergaard and the Mets for the finale.
