Coming up on Tuesday, we’ve got game one out at Marlins Park, as the Kansas City Royals visit the Miami Marlins.
The Royals just finished up against the Twins, taking all four games of that set. Kansas City has now won eight in a row.

As for the Marlins, they played the Pirates over the weekend, and won all three of those games by a combined four runs.
For Tuesday’s game, the Royals will be bringing out RHP Yordano Ventura. In his 24 starts and 8-9 record this year, Ventura owns a 4.46 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP in 139.1 innings. Ventura took a no-decision his last time up, giving up one earned on five hits against the Tigers in 6.1 innings.
The Kansas City lineup is chock full of stars. Eric Hosmer has hit 131 times with 17 homers, 73 RBI and 61 runs. Alcides Escobar has 130 hits with 44 runs, and 35 RBI Lorenzo Cain has hit 107 times with 50 runs and 51 RBI.
Over on the Miami side, we’ll be seeing right-hander Andrew Cashner on Tuesday. In his 21 games (20 starts) and 4-9 record, Cashner owns a 4.92 ERA with a 1.46 ERA in 100.2 innings. Cashier took a no-decision his last time out with five innings, one earned and five hits against the Reds.
The Marlins have some big hitters on their roster as well. Martin Prado has hit 150 times with 59 RBI and 58 runs. Christian Yelihc has 140 hits with 65 runs and 72 RBI. Marcel Ozuna has 126 hits with 63 runs, 22 homers and 64 RBI to his credit.
The Royals are 4-0 in their last four road games, and 13-3 in their last 16 overall. Kansas City is also 2-6 in their last eight Tuesday games, and 1-4 in their last five against the NL East.
Meanwhile, the Marlins are 2-5 in their last seven interleague home games, and 1-4 in their last five interleague games overall. Miami is also 1-5 in their last six home games versus a right-handed starter, and 4-1 in their last five against a team with a winning record.
The Royals are rolling right now, and far be it for me to pick against a team with eight straight wins. Give me KC.
