Headed our way on Sunday in MLB activity, we’ve got the finale between the Kansas City Royals and the Boston Red Sox at historic Fenway Park.
This will be game three of the series. On Friday, the Royals won 6-3. On Saturday, the Red Sox countered with an 8-3 win.

Pitching for the Royals on Sunday will be RHP Yordano Ventura. Over 25 starts and a 9-9 record this year, Ventura has put up a 4.27 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP in 145.1 innings. Ventura got a win his last time out in Miami, going six innings with six hits and no earned.
The Royals have several key hitters on their roster. Alcides Escobar leads the pack on 138 hits with 46 runs and 38 RBI. Eric Hosmer has hit 134 times with 62 runs and 76 RBI. Lorenzo Cain sits on 110 hits with 52 runs and 53 RBI.
Over on the Sox side, we’ll be seeing lefty Eduardo Rodriguez in the starting role. Over 13 starts and a 2-5 record, Rodriguez has managed a 5.11 ERA with a 1.40 WHIP in 68.2 innings. In Baltimore his last time up, Rodriguez put up four innings of shutout ball, taking a no-decision.
The Red Sox are also great on offense. Mookie Betts has logged 174 hits with 100 runs, 28 homers and 94 RBI. Xander Bogaerts has put up 161 hits with 9` runs and 74 RBI. Dustin Pedroia holds 162 hits with 85 runs and 60 RBI.
The Royals are 4-0 in their last four games against a left-handed starter, and 6-0 in their last six game threes of a series. Kansas City is also 4-0 in Ventura’s last four road starts, and 5-0 in Ventura’s last five starts.
Meanwhile, the Red Sox are 2-8 in their last 10 game threes of a series, and 3-7 in Rodriguez’s last 10 starts. Boston is also 1-4 in Rodriguez’s last five starts against the American League Central, and 0-6 in Rodriguez’s last six home starts.
I like Ventura in the pitching matchup here, so I think the Royals will bag another win in the finale.
