The Baltimore Orioles and the rival New York Yankees take the field in the Big Apple on Sunday.
The Baltimore Orioles have missed some opportunities to make up ground in the American League East the past few weeks and that night end up haunting them. The Orioles fell at New York 13-5 on Saturday as their pitching broke down. O’s starter Dylan Bundy dropped to 7-6with five runs plated over four frames with TJ McFarland and Mychal Givens giving up seven runs in an inning. The Birds banged out 12 hits and walked twice with Mark Trumbo going deep and scoring twice while Chris Davis went deep twice and knocked in three. Kevin Gausman looks for a road win at the rival Yankees on Sunday afternoon. Gausman is coming off of an 8-1 win versus Washington where he threw six scoreless innings.

The New York Yankees are quietly still in the postseason race and will be dangerous if they continue to win. Following Saturday’s scoring spree the Yankees have won four in a row and picked up a game in the standings. Yanks starter Chad Green gave up four runs on seven hits including three homers through 4.2 innings before the NYY pen took control. New York amasses 18 hits with Gary Sanchez, Aaron Hicks and Starlin Castro going deep and driving in seven while Brian McCann knocked in two. Veteran left hander CC Sabathia toes the rubber against the Orioles for the 4th time this year. Sabathia defeated Cleveland 5-1 on the road last time out with a run scoring in seven frames.
The under is 26-11 in Baltimore’s last 37 on grass and is 30-13 in their last 43 overall while the Orioles are 6-20 in Gausman’s last 26 road starts. T:he under is 10-3-2 in Sabathia’s last 15 home starts. I think it’s unlikely New York sweeps but I’m not betting Baltimore….
