The Rockies amassed16 hits and five walks with Charlie Blackmon and Carlos Gonzalez  each going deep with six RBI’s and four runs between them.The Rockies end their series at Washington with Chad Bettis on the mound Sunday. Bettis comes off a 4-2 defeat at Milwaukee with all four runs allowed (three earned) on four hits over five innings.

The Washington Nationals are heading towards the National League East title and control their own fate. The Nationals saw their two game winning streak end in Saturday’s extra inning defeat. Nationals starter AJ Cole gave up three runs on four hits and three BB through 5.2 innings before Yusmeiro Petit was tagged for two homers and five runs in the 11th.  The Nats pounded out 12 hits with Bryce Harper  driving in a run and scoring while four players recorded two hits. With Stephen Strasburg on the disabled list the Nationals have been pitching Renaldo Lopez or they might push up Tanner Roark on four days of rest but nothing has been decided.
