The Cincinnati Reds will be on the west coast to face the Los Angeles Angels on Monday.
The Cincinnati Reds are what they are in that a young rotation is going to be all over the map. The Reds threw the map away Sunday after getting shellacked 11-2 at Arizona. Cinci starter Homer Bailey was tagged for four runs in an inning while three relievers combined to give up seven runs. The Reds were held to just five hits with Brandon Phillips and Scott Schebler clubbing solo long balls. Cincinnati sends Dan Straily out to face the Angels for the first time since 2014. Straily has been the Reds best hurler with a 10-6 record in 24 starts with a 1.12 WHIP and 3.57 ERA.

The Los Angeles Angels seem to be picking up the pace lately but their problem has been sustaining the good times. The Angels were dominant on the mound and at the plate in a 5-0 victory at dangerous Detroit Sunday afternoon. LAA starter Tyler Skaggs upped his record to 2-3 with six scoreless innings. Los Angeles pounded out eleven hits with Jefry Marte slamming a three run homer while Andrelton Simmons knocking in a run and scoring. The Angels have scheduled Matt Shoemaker to be on the mound to face the Reds for the first time in his career. On the season, Shoemaker is 8-13 despite a very solid 3.98 ERA.
The over is 14-3 in Cincinnati’s last 17 Monday games and is 14-5 in their last 19 on grass while going 14-5 in their last 19 overall. The under is 6-1-1 in the Angels last 8 overall and the Angels are 4-15 in their last 19 games on grass while going 2-6 in their last 8 Monday games. No real edge here but I feel this is a game the Reds might have a chance in…
