Over at Citi Field on Monday, the Miami Marlins will be visiting the New York Mets in MLB action.
The Marlins played the Padres over the weekend. The two teams split the first two games, and on Sunday Miami lost 3-1.

As for the Mets, they just finished up against the Phillies. New York took games one and two, and in Sunday’s finale, the Mets lost 5-1.
Taking the Hill for the Marlins on Monday will be RHP Jose Fernandez. In his 24 starts and 13-7 record this year, Fernandez has put up a 2.91 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP in 148.2 innings. In his last outing. Fernandez got a win against the Royals with seven innings, six hits and no earned.
The Marlins have some great hitters at their disposal. Martin Prado has logged 158 hits with 59 runs and 61 RBI so far. Christian Yelich holds 143 hits with 66 runs and 76 RBI. Marcel Ozuna has hit 130 times with 64 runs, 22 homers and 67 RBI so far.
Over on the Mets’ side, we’ll be seeing Rafael Montero on Monday. Montero will be filling in for the injured Jacob DeGrom for one start here. In his two appearances (no starts), Montero has a 11.57 ERA with a 2.57 ERA in 2.1 innings.
The Mets have a few key hitters up top also. Neil Walker has hit 116 times with 57 runs, 23 homers and 55 RBI. Asdrubal Cabrera has hit 110 times with 47 runs and 42 RBI. Yoenis Cespedes sits on 107 hits with 55 runs, 26 homers and 67 RBI.
The Mets are 2-5 in their last seven Monday games, and 6-1 in Fernandez’s last seven Monday starts. New York is also 1-4 in Fernandez’s last five road starts, and 41-20 in Fernandez’s last 61 starts overall.
Meanwhile, the Mets are 20-6 in their last 26 Monday games, and 2-8 in their last 10 game ones of a series. New York is also 2-5 in Montero’s last seven home starts, and 2-7 in Montero’s last nine starts overall.
I can’t pick against Fernandez here, so I won’t. Give me the Marlins all the way in this one.
