On Wednesday from Oriole Park, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles will be finishing up their MLB series.
This will be game three of the set. On Monday, the Blue Jays took a 5-1 win. In Tuesday’s game, the Orioles managed a 5-3 victory.

Pitching for the Blue Jays on Wednesday will be RHP Aaron Sanchez. In his 24 games and 12-2 record, Sanchez has logged a 2.99 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP in 156.1 innings. Sanchez hasn’t been on the mound since August 20, when he was optioned to the minors in an effort to corral his workload.
It’s not to hard to find a big hitter on the Blue Jays’ roster. Josh Donaldson holds 142 hits with 106 runs, 34 homers and 92 RBI. Edwin Encarnacion has hit 130 times with 83 runs, 36 homers and 106 RBI. Kevin Pillar holds 119 hits with 50 runs and 46 RBI.
Over on the Orioles side, we’ll be seeing RHP Yovani Gallardo make the start. Over 18 starts and a 4-8 record, Gallardo owns a 5.69 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP in 91.2 innings. In New York his last time out, Gallardo put up a loss in just 1.1 innings pitched with six hits and seven earned.
The Orioles have some great hitters as well. Manny Machado has bashed 151 hits with 92 runs, 32 homers and 83 RBI. Jonathan Schoop holds 139 hits with 70 RBI, 20 homers and 68 RBI. Adam Jones has hit 137 times with 74 runs, 24 homers and 74 RBI.
The Blue Jays are 39-19 in their last 58 Wednesday games, and 6-1 in Sanchez’s last seven starts versus the American League East. Toronto is also 4-1 in Sanchez’s last five Wednesday starts, and 14-6 in Sanchez’s last 20 starts overall.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 5-2 in Gallardo’s last seven home starts, and 0-4 in Gallardo’s last four starts overall. Baltimore is also 0-4 in Gallardo’s last four starts with four days’ rest, and 0-4 in Gallardo’s last four starts against the American League East.
I like Sanchez in the pitching matchup here, so I’ll take the Blue Jays in this one.
