The playoff hopeful St. Louis Cardinals pay a visit to the Cincinnati Reds in Friday action.

The St. Louis Cardinals are right in the middle of contending for the postseason but they have been far from consistent. The Cardinals have won two of three but are coming off of a 3-1 loss  at Milwaukee where the offense stalled. Cards starter Luke Weaver fell to 1-2 with all three runs given up over sox frames while recording ten strikeouts. The Redbirds managed three hits and walked three times with Yadier Molina smacked his 5th long balls. The Cardinals send rookie Alex Reyes to the hill for his second career start Friday night. Reyes did not get a decision in a 3-2 win in his debut with a run plated over 4.2 innings.

Cincinnati Reds vs. St. Louis Cardinals - 9/2/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Cincinnati Reds have been eliminated from postseason contention for quite awhile and things haven’t been good with defeats in eight of ten. The Reds were shutout 3-0 on Wednesday. Cinci starter Brandon Finnegan fell to 8-10 with a pair of runs given up on five hits through seven innings while striking out nine. Cincinnati was held to four hits with Ramon Cabrera going 2-4nwith a double. Anthony DeSclafani will be on the mound to oppose the Cardinals for the second time this year. DeSclafani comes off a 13-0 win at Arizona on a complete game performance.

St. Louis are 8-2 in their last 10 road games and the under is 8-3 in their last 11 Friday games while the over is 13-6-1 in their last 20 road games. The under is 6-2-1 in Cincinnati’s last 9 Friday games and the over is 16-7 in their last 23 overall while going  16-7 in the Reds last 23 on grass. The Cardinals are  11-5 in the last 16 meetings. The only thing I can say is I know little of Reyes…
