The Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox will be getting their series going Monday at US Cellular Field.
The Tigers just finished a series against the Royals. The two teams split the first two games, and in the rubber match Sunday, Detroit got a 6-5 win.

As for the White Sox, they played the Twins. Chicago dropped two of the first three games, and in Sunday’s finale the White Sox capped off a 13-inning barn-burner with a 13-11 win.
The Tigers will be whipping out RHP Justin Verlander on Monday. In his 28 starts and 14-7 record this year, Verlander owns a 3.30 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP in 188 innings. Verlander posted a no-decision in seven innings against the White Sox his last time up, with three hits and two runs.
The Tigers have some interesting hitters at their disposal. Miguel Cabrera has logged 156 hits with 75 runs, 29 homers and 85 RBI. Ian Kinsler has hit 151 times with 100 runs, 25 homers and 72 RBI. Victor Martinez sits on 140 hits with 55 runs, 23 homers and 75 RBI.
Over on the White Sox side, we’ll be seeing lefty Chris Sale make the start Monday. In 26 starts and a 15-7 record this year, Sale has a 3.10 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP in 185.2 innings. In Detroit his last time up, Sale took a no-decision with eight hits and two earned in eight innings.
It’s easy to find the stars on Chicago’s roster. Jose Abreu has 155 hits with 55 runs, 22 homers and 86 RBI. Adam Eaton has hit 148 times with 76 runs and 50 RBI. Melky Cabrera has managed 145 hits with 58 runs and 65 RBI.
The Tigers are 5-0 in their last five game ones of a series, and 4-0 in Verlander’s last four starts in game one of a series. Detroit is also 5-1 in Velander’s last six starts with four days’ rest, and 6-2 in Verlander’s last eight starts total.
As for the White Sox, they’re 12-5 in their last 17 Monday games, and 5-11 in their last 16 game ones of a series. Chicago is also 9-3 in Sale’s last 12 home starts, and 2-7 in Sale’s last nine starts.
This should be a great game, and without much offense. I’ll take the under, and give the Sox a slight advantage for being at home.
