The Colorado Rockies welcome the rival San Francisco Giants to Coors Field on Tuesday night.
The San Francisco Giants have faltered in the second half of the season to fall to second in the National League West. The Giants struggles continued Monday in a 6-0 defeat Coors Field. The bats never got going and the pitching couldn’t hold their own. SF starter Matt Moore was charged with all six runs on five hits and six BB including a pair of long balls over 2.2 frames. San Francisco was held to two hits with Eduardo Nunez and Trevor Brown logging hits. Jeff Samardzija draws Tuesday’s start against NL West rival Colorado who he sees for the third time in 2016. Samardzija comes off a 5-4 loss to the Cubs with three runs allowed on five hits and three BB over four innings.

The Colorado Rockies most realistic goal is to finish the year with a winning record and that requires winning series. The Rockies had dropped three of four before getting strong performances from both the arms and bats. Colorado starter Chad Bettis tossed the best game of his career with a complete game, two hitter with seven strikeouts. The Rockies posted six hits and walked five times with Nick Hundley going solo while Carlos Gonzalez went 2-4 with a grand slam. Tyler Anderson toes the rubber for the second time this year against San Francisco. Anderson comes off of a 7-0 win versus the Dodgers with 6.1 frames of scoreless baseball.
The under is 8-2-1 in San Francisco’s last 11 overall and is 8-2-1 in their last 11 on grass while the over is 6-2-2 in their last 10 Tuesday games. Colorado are 7-3 in Anderson’s last 10 starts and are 7-3 in Anderson’s last 10 starts on grass. I’m not sure there is a huge edge here but I’ll back the home team…
