The Cincinnati Reds have struggled in what is a rebuilding season with players needing experience. The Reds struggles continued with defeats in eight of eleven following Tuesday’s loss where both the arms and bats came up short. Cinci starter Brandon Finnegan gave up a pair of runs on three hits and four BB through five innings before Michael Lorenzen absorbed the loss with two more runs allowed in two innings. Cincinnati was held to five hits and four walks with Adam Duvall going deep with two RBI’s. Anthony DeSclafani takes the ball against the Mets for the first time this season. DeSclafani has had a strong year thus far, going 8-2 in 16 starts with a 1.14 WHIP and 2.93 ERA.
The over is 9-2 in the Mets last 11 road games and the Mets are 12-4 in their last 16 overall while going 12-4 in their last 16 games on grass. The under is 5-1-2 in Cincinnati’s last 8 Wednesday games and the Reds are 2-6 in their last 8 overall while going 2-6 in their last 8 games on grass.
