The Line: Oakland Athletics -122 / Los Angeles Angels +112 --- Over/Under: 9 See the Latest Odds
The Los Angeles Angels look to recover after blowing a 2-0 lead in the eighth inning last night as they take on the Oakland Athletics again on Wednesday.
The Angels had been one of the hottest teams in the league heading into Tuesday night’s show down with the pesky Athletics and were well on their way to winning their ninth game in ten tries but a three run eighth from the A’s spelled an end to that streak as Oakland won the game 3-2. Los Angeles will look to rebound here though and continue their late surge in the AL West, and while they will not make the playoffs they can build towards a successful offseason with some momentum to close out their schedule and hope to fill some holes via free agency this winter. The Halos will send Alex Meyer to the mound who is expected to face off against Jharel Cotton who looks to be the newest Oakland Athletics pitcher to emerge out of anonymity.

The Athletics head into tonight’s game looking to build on last night’s late game heroics as they too look to make up some ground in the AL West as these two sides are separated by four games in the division basement. Oakland has had a very tough season and have a ton of holes they need to fill in the offseason, and while both Danny Valencia and Khris Davis have had pretty good seasons at the plate they could both be on the move by the start of next year leaving the A’s with plenty of leg work to do this winter.
The Angels are 5-0 in their last five road games against a righty, 8-1 in their last nine overall, and 5-1 in their last six road games while the A’s are 1-6 in their last seven overall, 0-9 in their last nine against the AL West, and 0-5 in their last five games against a righty. This game has no real implications in the playoff picture but the Angels are the better team and playing much better at the moment so they are the play.
