The Baltimore Orioles and the Detroit Tigers will be kicking off their MLB series from Comerica Park on Friday.
The Orioles just finished a road series against the Rays this week. Baltimore won the first two games but dropped the finale 7-6 on Wednesday.

As for the Tigers, they played the White Sox. Detroit took the first game, but lost the final two matchups in that series.
The Orioles will be bringing out RHP Kevin Gausman on Friday. Over 25 games and a 7-10 record, Gausman owns a 3.58 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP in 146 innings. Taking a win over the Yankees his last time out, Gausman put up six innings with two hits and no earned.
Baltimore has some great hitters at their disposal. Manny Machado leads the way with 169 hits, 96 runs, 34 homers and 90 RBI. Adam Jones has posted 145 hits with 79 runs, 26 homers and 77 RBI. Jonathan Schoop holds 145 hits as well with 74 runs, 21 homers and 73 RBI.
Detroit will be giving Friday’s start to RHP Michael Fulmer. Over his 22 starts and 10-6 record, Fulmer has posted a 2.77 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP in 136.2 innings. Fulmer recorded a loss his last time out, going six innings with seven hits and three earned against KC.
Detroit has some interesting bats in their order as well. Miguel Cabrera has hit 162 times with 77 runs, 31 homers and 87 RBI. Ian Kinsler holds 152 hits with 101 runs, 25 homers and 72 RBI. Victor Martinez has hit 144 times with 56 runs, 23 homers and 75 RBI.
The Orioles are 4-0 in their last four games following a loss, and 6-2 in their last eight games following an off day. Baltimore is also 4-0 in Gausman’s last four starts, and 6-20 in Gausman’s last 26 road starts.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 6-1 in their last seven games following an off day and 13-3 in their last 16 game ones of a series. Detroit is also 7-2 in their last nine games against a right-handed starter, and 11-5 in their last 16 games overall.
This should be a pretty good matchup, and I like both pitchers to play well. I’ll take the Orioles in a low-scoring squeaker.
