Down at Turner Field on Monday, the Miami Marlins and the Atlanta Braves will be kicking off their MLB series.
Miami just finished up a series against the Dodgers. Each team got a win in the first two games, and on Sunday the Marlins took the series with a 3-0 victory.

As for the Braves, they played against the Mets this weekend. Each of those teams got a win in their first two games, and in the Sunday finale the Braves lost 10-3.
RHP Andrew Cashner will take the mound for the Marlins on Monday. Over his 24 games (23 starts) and 5-11 record, Cashner owns a 4.77 ERA with a 1.46 WHIP in 117 innings. In his last start against Philly, Cashner took a win with 5.1 innings, four hits and no earned.
Miami has some enviable bats in their order. Martin Prado leads the way on 168 hits with 66 runs and 66 RBI. Christian Yelich has bagged 156 hits with 71 runs and 88 RBI. JD Realmuto sits on 142 hits with 56 runs and 41 RBI.
The Braves will be whipping out RHP Mike Foltynewicz on Monday. Over 20 starts and an 8-5 record, Foltynewicz has a 4.16 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP in 114.2 innings. Foltynewicz got a no-decision his last time out with six innings, five hits and one earned against Washington.
Atlanta’s star hitters are easy to find. Freddie Freeman has hit 155 times with 87 runs, 29 homers and 74 RBI. Nick Markakis has bagged 145 hits with 57 runs and 79 RBI. Ender Inciarte holds 131 hits, 67 runs and 27 RBI.
The Marlins are 2-5 in their last seven against the National League East, and 1-5 in their last six Monday games. Miami is also 1-5 in Cashner’s last six starts, and 1-5 in Cashner’s last six starts on grass.
As for the Braves, they’re 2-6 in their last eight game ones of a series, and 5-16 in their last 21 Monday games. Atlanta is also 3-7 in Foltynewicz’s last 10 home starts, and 3-9 in Foltynewicz’s last 12 starts versus a team with a losing record.
I don’t have a whole lot of faith in Foltynewicz here, so I’ll take the Marlins in the game one victory.
