The Kansas City Royals postseason hopes are hanging by thread so losing isn’t an option at this point. The Royals had won four of six and desperately needed to keep winning but after Mondays poor performance you have to think they are out of the postseason. KC starter Dillon Gee was charged with five runs through 3.1 innings before Chris Young and Alec Mills gave up four runs apiece. Kansas City managed seven hits an walked twice with Paulo Orlando driving in two and scoring while Kendrys Morales drove in a run. Danny Duffy toes the rubber against the Athletics for the first time this season. Duffy did not get a decision in a 6-5 victory at Minnesota with two earned runs with ten K’s in six frames.
Oakland are 4-14 in their last 18 road games and are 3-9 in their last 12 overall while going 3-9 in their last 12 games on grass. The over is 12-3-1 in Kansa City’s last 16 overall and is 12-3-1 in their last 16 on grass while going 18-7-1 in their last 26 Tuesday games. Oakland are 3-9 in the last 12 meetings and the under is 5-2-1 in the last 8 meetings. I’ll back the Royals but I think they are done…
