The Line: Chicago Cubs / Milwaukee Brewers --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Chicago Cubs look to shake off a rare home loss yesterday as they continue their series at Wrigley against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday.
The Brewers grabbed a 5-4 win over the Cubs in Chicago yesterday in what was a late game come back and it ultimately prevented the Cubs from winning the NL Central division, though it looks like a formality at this point and should be in the books come Friday evening. The Brew Crew will look to keep the champagne on ice for at least another night as they send Chase Anderson to the hill who will match up with John Lackey in a pretty decent pitching matchup but the Brewers know they will have to have one of their best outings of the season at the plate if they’re going to get another victory here in a matinee affair at Wrigley.

The Cubs meanwhile looked as though they were in for a night of celebrating but a Brewers rally ended those plans for the time being as the two sides meet up again on Friday afternoon in a game that should be one sided. Chicago is loaded top to bottom in their lineup and while Lackey isn’t a front end guy with the Cubs and serves more as a back of the rotation arm he is having a nice season and should be in a good position here to get the win. The Cubs are 37-14 in their last 51 home games and are big time favourites here as a result but the Brewers had their backs against the wall last night and defied the odds so they are capable of getting the win here as well.
Milwaukee is 1-5 in their last six Friday games, 3-10 in their last 13 road starts from Anderson, and 0-4 in his last five starts on five days rest while the Cubs are 37-15 in their last 52 games overall, 9-4 in their last 13 during game two of a series, and 26-9 in their last 25 Friday games. Chicago should be celebrating here as they get a multi run win on Friday afternoon.
