The Pittsburgh Pirates continue their series at Miller Park versus the Milwaukee Brewers..
The Pittsburgh Pirates need a little hot streak to push them over .500 and to stay there. The Pirates are on one now after knocking off Milwaukee 6-3 for wins in four of five. Buccos starter Steven Brault allowed all three runs over four frames while five relievers put up zeros. Pitt pounded out 13 hits and walked twice with Andrew McCutchen and Jordy Mercer driving in a pair of runs apiece. Rookie Chad Kuhl gets the ball Wednesday for his second match up with Milwaukee. Kuhl comes off of a 15-2 win at Philadelphia with both runs allowed on four hits over six innings.

I suspect the Milwaukee Brewers might be dipping in to the free agent market to improve the club in 2017 or they could do nothing. The Brewers had won four of five before Tuesday’s defeat where neither the work on the mound or the plate was strong enough. Brew Crew starter Matt Garza was hit hard with five runs allowed on eight hits through four innings to absorb the loss. Milwaukee produced seven hits and three walks with Martin Maldonado going solo while Domingo Santiago doubled in a run. Jimmy Nelson toes the rubber against the Pirates for the 4th time this season. Nelson comes off of a 5-4 win at Wrigley Field with three runs allowed on six hits in six frames.
The over is 22-8-1 in Pittsburgh’s last 31 Wednesday games and the Pirates are 8-3 in Kuhl’s last 11 starts while going 8-3 in Kuhl’s last 11 starts on grass. Milwaukee are 3-7 in their last 10 home games and the under is 7-2-2 in Nelson’s last 11 home starts while the Brewers are 5-14 in Nelson’s last 19 starts. The under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings. Better team?
