The Boston Red Sox look for a win at the Tampa Bay Rays in Friday night action.
The Tampa Bay Rays are probably counting down the days to the end of the season which has been a struggle. The Rays had lost three in a row before their pitching did all the heavy lifting in a 2-0 win versus the visiting Yankees. TB rookie starter Blake Snell picked up the win with a five hitter over five scoreless frames. Tampa Bay produced seven hits and a pair of free passes with Corey Dickerson going solo while Brad Miller drove in Logan Forsythe. Tampa hands the ball to Chris Archer who has struggled to get wins despite pitching well. Archer comes off a 5-4 loss at Baltimore (ND) with three runs given up on seven hits over 6.1 Innings.

Boston starter David Price remained hot with all three runs coming on a three run bomb through seven innings. The Red Sox banged out nine hits and walked seven times with Hanley Ramirez clubbing a homer and driving in two while Sandy Leon knocked in a run and scored. Left hander Drew Pomeranz is scheduled to oppose Tampa Bay on Friday night. Pomeranz did not get a decision in a 5-4 win versus the Yankees with four runs given up over 7.2 innings.
