Up at Rogers Centre on Tuesday, the Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays will be kicking off their MLB series.
The Orioles are coming off a weekend set against the Diamondbacks. Baltimore won all three of those games, holding Arizona to just four runs combined.

As for the Blue Jays, they just finished up against the Yankees. Toronto won the first three of those games, and on Monday the Yankees prevented the sweep with a 7-5 win.
Pitching for the Orioles on Tuesday will be RHP Kevin Gausman. In his 28 starts and 8-11 record, Gausman has put up a 3.57 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP in 166.1 innings. Gausman logged a loss against the Red Sox his last time out, with 6.1 innings, 10 hits and five earned.
Baltimore has some great hitters at their disposal. Manny Machado has bagged 186 hits with 103 runs, 36 homers and 94 RBI. Adam Jones has 159 hits with 85 runs, 28 homers and 82 RBI. Jonathan Schoop has put up 156 hits with 80 runs, 24 homers and 77 RBI.
Over on the Blue Jays’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Aaron Sanchez in the start Tuesday. In his 28 games and 13-2 record, Sanchez owns a 3.12 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP in 179 innings. Sanchez took a no-decision against Seattle his last time out, going six innings with four hits and one earned.
Toronto has some stellar hitters in their lineup as well. Josh Donaldson has put up 158 hits with 121 runs, 36 homers and 96 RBI. Edwin Encarnacion holds 156 hits with 98 runs, 42 homers and 125 RBI. Kevin Pillar sits on 141 hits with 57 runs and 49 RBI.
The Orioles are 4-1 in their last five Tuesday games, and 1-4 in their last five game ones of a series. Baltimore is also 5-2 in Gausman’s last seven starts, and 1-5 in Gausman’s last six starts in game one of a series.
As for the Blue Jays, they’re 4-0 in their last four game ones of a series, and 7-1 in Sanchez’s last eight starts in game one of a series. Toronto is also 7-3 in Sanchez’s last 10 starts versus the American League East, and 1-5 in Sanchez’s last six Tuesday starts.
I like Sanchez a little better in the pitching matchup, and don’t expect him to have a lot of trouble against the Baltimore hitters. I’ll take the Blue Jays here.
