The Chicago Cubs end their season with the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.
The Chicago Cubs want to head in to the postseason with the momentum of a win. There was no momentum Saturday as the Cubs pitching was tagged for a 7-4 loss at Cincinnati. Cubbies starter Jon Lester fell to19-5 with five runs allowed on six hits and three BB with Hector Rondon giving two more. Chicago logged eight hits and walked three times with Ben Zobrist going solo while Jason Heyward doubled in a pair. Kyle Hendricks draws the final start of the regular season against the Cincinnati Reds. Hendricks comes off a 12-2 win at Pittsburgh with seven scoreless innings pitched.

The Cincinnati Reds have struggled the past week in what has been a long season. The Reds had dropped three of four before upending the Cubs Saturday behind some strong work at the plate. Cinci starter Tim Adleman upped his record to 4-4 with three runs scored through five innings. Cincinnati banged out ten hits and walked five times with Eugenio Suarez clubbing a three run homer while Joey Votto went 3-5 with three RBI’s and a run. Rookie Robert Stephenson gets his 7th start of the season and second against the Cubs. Stephenson comes off of a 12-5 defeat at St. Louis with five runs allowed in four frames.
