The Boston Red Sox will try to even their ALDS with the Cleveland Indians on Friday.
The Boston Red Sox came in to the ALDS at Cleveland with the best offense in the league but neither their arms or bats were strong enough in a 5-4 defeat in the opener. Red Sox starter Rick Porcello was hit hard with all five runs allowed on six hits including three homers over 4.1 frames. Boston banged out ten hits and a free pass and rode the long ball with Sandy Leon, Andrew Benintendi and Brock Holt each going deep. Left hander David Price gets the ball for game two of the ALDS at Progressive Field. Price has made 35 starts and has gone 17-9 with a 1.20 WHIP and 3.99 ERA in 230 innings.

The Cleveland Indians did just enough on the mound and at the plate to take game one of the ALDS against the visiting Red Sox. Indians starter Trevor Bauer struggled through 4.2 innings with three runs allowed on six hits including a pair of long balls while three relievers contained the dangerous Boston attack. The Tribe totaled ten hits and walked once with the bats playing the power game with Roberto Perez, Jason Kipnis and Francisco Lindor all clubbing long balls. The Indians are scheduled to send Corey Kluber to the hill for the second game of the ALDS. On the year, Kluber has gone 18-9 in 32 starts with a 1.06 WHIP and 3.14 ERA.
The under is 9-1-1 in Boston’s last 11 on grass and Boston are 14-3 in their last 17 Friday games while the under is 8-2 in their last 10 road games. Cleveland are 41-16 in their last 57 home games and the over is 5-2-3 in their last 10 playoff games while Cleveland are 36-16 in their last 52 Friday games. Boston are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings in Cleveland.
On paper this looks like it could go either way but Kluber has put up some impressive numbers and if he is on the Indians could have another win…
