The Washington Nationals look to take a 2-1 lead in the NLDS when they visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday

The Los Angeles Dodgers  had a chance to take a 2-0 series lead versus the Nationals but both their bats and arms struggling in game two. Instead the NLDS is tied 1-1 after a 5-2 defeat at DC as LAD starter Rich Hill allowed four runs on six hits and a pair of free passes over 4.1 frames to get the loss. Los Angeles managed eight hits and six walks with Corey Seager going solo while Josh Reddick drove in Justin Turner. Kenta Maeda toes the rubber for game three of the NLDS against the Nationals for his first career match up with Washington. In 2016, Maeda has gone 16-11 with a 3.48 ERA.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals NLDS Game Three - 10/10/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Washington Nationals barely lost to Clayton Kershaw in their NLDS opener and a loss in game two would have had them in serious trouble. The Nats avoided trouble  with the bullpen controlling the scoreboard with the bats also coming to life to even the series at a game apiece with Sunday’s game two victory. Nationals starter Tanner Roark gave up two runs on seven hits and three BB before five relievers put up zeros. Washington banged out nine hits and walked twice with Jose Lobaton cracking a three run bomb with Daniel Murphy going 3-3 with a run and a pair of RBI’s. Left hander Gio  Gonzalez gets the ball in game three of the NLDS on Monday night. Overall, Gonzalez has gone 11-11 in 32 starts with a 1.34 WHIPA and 4.57 ERA over 177.1 innings.

The under is 12-5 in Washington last 17 road games and Washington  are 9-4 in Gonzalez’s last 13 Monday starts. The Dodgers are 8-1 in their last 9 Monday games and the over is 6-2 in the Dodgers last 8 Monday games while Los Angeles  are 44-16 in their last 60 home games. The Nationals are 1-8 in the last 9 meetings.

I really don’t care for this one with both hurlers struggling so we don’t know if they continue to struggle or the offenses take center stage…
