Dodgers starter Rich Hill allowed a run on three hits and a pair of BB while whiffing six in 2.1 frames before Grant Dayton served up a two run jack which forced Clayton Kershaw to throw 2/3 of an inning to pick up the save. Los Angeles totaled eight hits and five walks with Joc Pederson going 2-3 with a solo homer while Carlos Ruiz smacked an RBI single with Justin Turner’s two run triple capping off a four run inning. The Chicago Cubs finished off the dangerous San Francisco Giants 6-5 to win their NLDS 3-1 and now faceoff with the Dodgers with he World Series on the line. Cubs starter John Lackey struggled with three runs plated on seven hits and a pair of BB through four innings before Justin Grimm gave up two runs in 1/3 of an inning but four relievers threw scoreless baseball to stop the bleeding. The Cubbies mustered six hits and walked three times with David Ross clubbing a two run homer and Wilson Contreras drove in two more while Ben Zobrist and Javier Baez drove in runs and scored. Left hander Jon Lester makes his second start of the postseason as he draws the start in game one of the NLCIS. Lester defeated San Francisco 1-0 in the NLDS with eight scoreless frames.
